After taking a year off, we assembled a collection of 356s again for the Geneva Concours of 2014. As in 2011 and
2012, we put the cars on display in the parking lot behind the Kane County court house and posted placards along
Third Street, the main drag of the Concours, to alert the crowd to our presence. Despite a shorter-than-usual
lead time, we were able to line up a display of 16 cars spanning 11 years of 356 production and including examples from
5 of our 7 historical groups:
Group 1: Pre-A, 1950-55
Kevin Murray, Coupe
Group 2: 356A T1, 1956-57
Jay Yost, Cabriolet
Doug Feistamel, Coupe
Cliff Holle, Coupe
(Group 3: 356A T2, 1958-59, and
Group 4: 356B T5, 1960-61: no cars this time.)
Group 5: 356B T6, 1962-63
Bill Van Nortwick, Coupe
Tom McGinty, Coupe
Paul Masanek, Cabriolet
Group 6: 356C, 1964-65
Tim Curtis, Coupe
Gordy Smith, Coupe
Chris Davitt, Cabriolet
Gene Gully, Coupe
Group 7: the Speedster and its successors

Curt Crowell, Speedster

The display was set up by Jim Hinde with welcome assistance from Peter and Thomas Van Nortwick, Wally Wright, and the
Club members who generously brought their cars. Special thanks to Kevin Murray for lending us his Pre-A Coupe for the day.
